Pasta arrabiatta - heat a little olive oil w/ garlic and red pepper flakes (to taste - depends how spicy you like it) - don't burn garlic... add can of tomatoes, simmer sauce (if you want to add ground beef, add it before the tomatoes and cook until no longer pink) while you cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain pasta, and toss w/ sauce...

Or try this, if you like seafood... a modified barefoot contessa recipe...

Vegetable oil

1 tablespoon kosher salt plus 1 1/2 teaspoons

3/4 pound linguine

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 1/2 tablespoons good olive oil

1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic (4 cloves)

1 pound large shrimp (about 16 shrimp), peeled and deveined

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)

1/8 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes

Steamed asparagus spears

Drizzle some oil in a large pot of boiling salted water, add 1 tablespoon of salt and the linguine, and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, or according to the directions on the package.

Meanwhile, in another large (12-inch), heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the garlic. Saute for 1 minute. Be careful, the garlic burns easily! Add the shrimp, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and the pepper and saute until the shrimp have just turned pink, about 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from the heat, add the parsley, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Toss to combine.

When the pasta is done, drain the cooked linguine and then put it back in the pot. Immediately add the asparagus spears, shrimp and sauce, toss well, and serve.

*** Really easy and delicious.

My new favorite recipe for a spicy pasta is Mexican Alfredo.

You need:

Fettucini or Linguinie

1 jar alfredo sauce from grocery

1 tablespoon or so of chopped jalapenos (the kind in the jar)

1 can of diced tomatoes (get the mexican flavor one if you want, or plain is fine)

1 Green Bell Pepper, cut into slices

1 chopped garlic clove (optional)

Chicken Breast (optional)

Chili Flakes

Cilantro

Mix the alfredo sauce, jalapenos, drained can of tomatoes, bell pepper, garlic, chili flakes and low simmer for about 10 mins.

Add in grilled chicken breast and toss.

Taste and season (salt and pepper).

Pour over pasta and top with parmesan or other cheese.

Garnish with a bit of chopped cilantro.
Hi I did something really simple today and it was delicious.

I put some water on to boil for some left over linguine that I had.

I put two bullion cubes in the water, grated two cloves of garlic with a small grater, added a little bit of minced onion and a little oil so that the pasta won't stick and brought the water to a boil.

I then added my linguine and cooked according to the directions. I then drained the pasta and left a little of the pasta water in the pot and added it back to the pot. I added about 1/4 cup of Classico Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto to the pasta and and tossed in under real low heat until the sauce heated up and blended in with the pasta. Serve with grated parmesean cheese. Really delicious!!!!
