Does anyone know which other cheese could be substituted in a pasta recipe for dried ricotta?

if you don't have ricotta in a pinch you and strain cottage cheese in a cheese cloth to get out the majority of the moisture and us it. if you're going to be baking the recipe like in manacotti or lasagna it helps if you mix one egg and some italian seasoning in with it to give it some flavor and hide the cottage cheese tasteDoes anyone know which other cheese could be substituted in a pasta recipe for dried ricotta?
Cottage cheese sounds good but it's fresh , you need dry right? so use either a bit of Parmigiano Reggiano if you like a more pungent taste use Romano Cheese, or I would use grated mild Provolone instead it's closer to the dried ricotta or a Provoletta .

if you were to use cottage cheese, make sure to drain it properly and dry it with a paper towel than place it into the food processor in order to get the same texture that you would if you were using the dried ricotta.Does anyone know which other cheese could be substituted in a pasta recipe for dried ricotta?
You can use the Parmesan cheese, or theres this one that has an aged, strong taste called cotija. You can find it in mexican-oriented food stores, or might get lucky n find it at any store in the dairy section.
I also use cottage cheese.

I put in a blender and make it really smooth.

then add a dash of pepper and teaspoon of flour .

the flour will thicken it up and the pepper adds a bit of seasoning.
