Need a simple pasta sauce recipe?

Ok Im a young single male who has recently moved out on his own. I invited this girl over for dinner and I told her I was gonna make pasta. I think shes a vegeratarian so their can not be any meat in the sauce. I was thinking along the lines of a simple mariana sauce or however you spell it. I have like tomato paste I think or what ever comes in the cans and I have some garlic. What else do I need to get and if you do have a simple recipie can u explain how to do each simple step cause I have not really cooked that much before on my own. Thank you so much for your help.Need a simple pasta sauce recipe?
If you have the kind of tomato paste that is so thick you have to scoop it out of the can, scoop it into a sauce pan and add 2 ';canfulls'; of water. Stir the water in carefully. It really will mix, but takes a little convincing first.

If you have the canned tomato sauce that pours easily from the can., forget the above step. Use it at its currecnt thickness.

Now that you have a workable sauce base, add some garlic to it. (If it's whole garlic, peel and slice 2-3 cloves. If it's minced or mashed garlic, add a teaspoon or two. If it's powdered garlic, add a tablespoon. What can I say? I love garlic. If you don't like it quite that well, use about half of what I suggested.)

Add a teaspoon of salt and a half-teaspoon of ground black pepper (the normal stuff you'd use at the table.) Chop about a half an onion fairly finely and toss that in. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and stir well. Let the whole thing simmer on low heat while you cook the pasta so the flavors will blend well.

If you can get to the store, get a ready-to-bake pack of breadsticks or a ready-to-bake small loaf of bread. Find these in the refrigerated section, near the canned biscuits. Serve this with a hummus dip (get that one at the deli counter) or sliced cheese to make sure there's at least some protein in the meal.Need a simple pasta sauce recipe?
Open can. Pour sauce. Can't get much simpler.
canned crushed tomatoes, oregano and basil, garlic, sauteed onion, salt and pepper

or just toss the pasta with good Parmesan, olive oil, fresh parsley, lemon zest, cracked pepper, and a little bit of the past water

oregano 1 teaspoon

1 teaspoon of sugar or a sweetner if you wanna be really healthy

heat olive oil, add chopped garlic 1 clove, dont let the garlic burn what ever you do, if it does start again, add chopped onion, dont worry about chopping finely, just roughly chopped will do, add chopped carrot celery and courgette, add stockcube (disolve this in like 4 tablespoons of boiling water first) add tomatoes, wine, and all the above mentioned herbs, leave this to simmer untill carrots are tender, about 45 mins, DONT LET IT BURN KEEP CHECKING IT, remove bay leaves, then blend it.

That is the easiest most totally delicious sauce ever, serve it with any kind of pasta, if you want to be extra fancy you could use spinach and ricotta tortelini, grate some cheese over the top b4 u serve....enjoy xxx
ok, make this

its better with meat, if she is veggie, then eat ,,,ne way

put garlic in the pan with olive oil, tons, like 10 cloves, smash it with the knife, chop it a little

then quickly, only let that garlic cook in the oil for like 30 seconds

add a can of Muir Glenn crushed tomatoes (the best), like $2

add basil, oregano, paprika, black pepper

simmer it for 10 minutes to an hour

its nice and has a very fresh taste if its 10 minutes, more hearty and nice if its an hour

add onions , peppers, mushrooms if you have em
Take a 1/4 cup of olive oil and saute in it 1/2 small onion, chopped and 1- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped.

Cook about 3 minutes on medium heat, then add a 2 big cans of crushed tomatoes and 1 small can of tomato paste.

Add oregano, thyme and basil ... if fresh, add about a Tbsp of each, if dried, about a 1/2 tbsp each.

Let simmer for at least an hour...preferably 2 to 3...you can add a little red wine or water if it starts to get too thick...its better if you can let it sit over night...the flavor really comes together that way. Just reheat on the stove. Top it off with grated parmesan right before you serve it!

Serve it with a nice loaf of crusty bread or rolls and a nice green salad.

Good luck!
