I do know exactly what you are looking for

My mother would make that as well.

All I can do is give you the recipe from the top of my head.

She would take dried lentil beans and sort them for foreign particles.

She would then wash them through a strainer.

In a big pot,

she would fill it with water.

Add the lentils - 1 bag

Add a chopped onion

Add 2-3 garlic chopped

Some parlsey

Some olive oil

2 bay leaves

Salt %26amp; pepper

1 - 8 oz can of tomato sauce

Don't worry, it will stay brown.

Cook that on a slow simmer for 45 min to 1 hour

Then add about 1/2 box of spaghtetti pasta, cut up into small pieces.

Cook that for about 8-10 minutes

That's it.Nana's lentils and pasta recipe (dry beans %26amp; broken spaghetti) do you know what im looking for?
Boil up the pasta. While that's boiling, cook up the lentils in a separate pot. Add to the lentil pot, after their drained, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 slices of white onion chopped, and one teaspoon of dry parsley. Also add, 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook the lentil pot, with the added ingredients for 3 minutes. Drain the pasta. Leaving the pasta a bit wet will be good. Add the lentil pot to the pasta pot. Done. Is should take just the length of time to boil up the pasta. ps: make it even easier. Use 2 regular cans of cooked lentil soup with only the liquid from one can. The other can drained of liquid. Delicious, YUM YUM. God bless the nana's of the world.
This looks GOOD and it looks like what you are talking about: http://memoriediangelina.blogspot.com/20鈥?/a>

That one is made with broken linguine instead of spaghetti, but I'm sure you could use whatever one you like.

So good and simple and cheap! I'm going to try to make it.
