My pasta recipe calls for brandy. I don't have any, can I substitute for white cooking wine?

OR chicken broth? My pasta recipe calls for brandy. I don't have any, can I substitute for white cooking wine?
You can leave it out.

Don't use cooking wine, it's full of salt.

Don't use cheap wine either.

Hi: Not sure whether your pasta recipe is for a sauce or not. If you are working with a cheese sauce, white wine can be used. If it is a tomato based sauce, I would recommend red wine. Neither is a good replacement for brandy though, as it has a totally different taste. Also, if you do decide to use cooking wine, make sure you reduce the amount of salt used in your recipe. Cooking wine contains a lot of salt. Good luck!
