40g butter

40g onions, finely chopped

40g parsley, finely chopped

400g rustici

600g shrimps

300g asparagus

150g tomato sauce (refer below)

1 glass dry white wine

salt and freshly ground pepper

2. Remove and discard the thick skin of the asparagus. Wash and cut them into 3 – 4cm sections.

3. Heat the butter in a frying pan and sauté the onions until soft. Add the shrimp and sauté for a few minutes.

4. Add the asparagus, cover the pan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes.

5. Add the tomato sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

6. Bring the salted water to the boil. Add the rustici and cook until al dente (10 – 12 minutes), stirring occasionally. Drain and toss with the sauce, include half the prepared parsley and sauté for one minute. Place the rustici on a serving dish or on individual plates. Sprinkle the remaining parsley. Serve immediately.

5. when the sauce begins to boil, lower heat to a simmer

6. Simmer 30 minutes to 1 hour.

7. Add to Pasta

This basic sauce can be used for all types of pasta and is perfect for lasagna, baked pastas and any “Parmesan” dishes (eggplant, chicken, etc).

If desired Meats (Italian Sausage is best) can be added for extra flavor and texture, but are not necessary

Heat about 1/4c olive oil over warm heat and add as many cloves of garlic as you'd like. Let the garlic get soft. Half about 20 cherry tomatoes and add to the garlic and oil. When they start to get soft, smash them w/a fork. Mix w/any shape/size pasta. Add mozzarella cubes and some basil. Delicious, easy, homemade.

Would definitely taste good with either chicken or shrimp.

Check out the website below for one of my favorite (and healthy) ways of serving pasta as a delish dinner. I have added grilled chicken to the recipe in the past and it came out great!

I would say pesto chicken lasagna. It is a unique and delicious recipe. What ever you make I am sure it will be yummy. Good luck.
Pasta itself just has to be boiled properly (al dente).

The secret is in the sauces, chicken or shrimp are add-ons.
PESTO with CREAM of CHICKEN is a blast.. try it with some mushrooms
