Is jambalaya pasta or rice? i'm trying to find a simple recipe and im so confused.?

Jambalaya is a rice dish... as mentioned above, it has it's roots in a Spanish rice dish, Paella.





Another way to look at Jambalaya is that it's a Cajun/Creole version of Spanish rice.

Traditionally, it is made with rice. However, once youi have tried it that way, feel free to cross cultures and try it with pasta, maybe orzo or penne. A good cook should never feel restricted in the kitchen. Hey, I toss a little kielbasa into my red beans and rice. Not traditional, but good.
It's a cajun dish made spicy with sasuage and boudan and if you dont know if its pasta or rice then you shouldn't try to make/eat it. and i believe emril would have the best recipie for it not the gd bbc w.e suggested that...what kind of british person knows anything about cajun food

If you look at that page, there's one recipe for ';Black-eyed pea and sausage jambalya';. (but you can really use just about any meat you want. ) ...and it's in a rice cooker!

A recent twist in the last couple of decades is Pastalaya or Jambaghetti, same seasonings, but w/ pasta. I prefer the original rice version
